Bachelorette/Birthday Bash!

Thank you everyone for your Birthday and Bachelorette Wishes!

Who knew that getting married and oldER could be this much fun!?! In the past four weekends I have had a bridal shower, attended my best friend's bachelorette party in NYC, had my own bachelorette party in Asheville, NC, and had a birthday! Whew, I need a rest. Here are some pics (of course I picked the ones where I looked at least HALF way decent. Hey! At least I admit it!)

My bridal shower. Theme: Animal Print aka Safari Chic. I was super excited every time I opened the door to see all the ladies in their animal print. (Roar!)

Nancy's Bachelorette Party Crew in front of Legally Blonde. ((OMG, OMG you guys!))

Asheville, NC! It was almost a 10 mile hike to get here, but we made it!

Happy Birthday to me! Bob actually called the restaurant in North Carolina and surprised us with 3 desserts at the end of our meal. Man, I love this guy. He knows the way to my heart is through my stomach.

Each weekend had an theme, LOVE. I swear, if I had thought about it long enough, I would have started crying. I'm not sure if its because I'm getting married or even if its because I'm getting older, but I've become more emotional. Not "BAD" emotional, but I think just more grateful. I'm grateful that I have all these wonderful friends to share my special day with. And I am so blessed to have a man who loves me for me.

Planning

Where has July gone?!?!

Time is really winding down. I have had a few ask me how long has is taken to plan your wedding. Am I'm going to be honest here. I love planning parties. I mean LOOOOVVVE. But, it wasn't the "planning" part that has taken me a year and a half. It has taken me a year and a half to plan and prepare my heart. I have had to prepare myself that on October 18, 2008 it will no longer be me but we. It has taken me a year and half to let go of extra baggage and then some. It has taken me a year and a half to realize that my father will not be the man i will look to for "fix-it" things, but it will be my husband. It has taken me a year and a half to realize that my friendships will change when I become married. It has taken me a year and a half to sink in that I will be SMITH!!!

So, for some it maybe 6 months of planning and for others 6 years. But for me, so far, it's taken a year and a half.
